O Z I I O’s proposal for the Swanboat Pavilion and Duck House recognizes the iconic nature of the swan boats as an image of Boston’s most significant qualities: tradition and innovation. Our intention is to use these two qualities to generate a legacy to future generations. The proposal recognizes the rich historic tradition of Boston but it also understands that innovative thinking has created the true legacy in Boston. We believe in order to create a lasting legacy in Boston, icons such as the Swanboat Pavilion need to express our values as innovators as well as our traditional roots.
